Hello SIOS forum community.

In this context, we refer to private individuals as individuals who do not run a business and who are not freelancers. Typically, this means pupils, trainees, students and people who are undergoing further training.

Unfortunately, no product can be sold directly to this group of interested parties.

However, there are a few ways to view or purchase automation technology:

Certain products and software can be obtained from relevant electronics retailers. In particular, the "small" LOGO! and S7-1200 controllers can be found in the catalogs of these companies, together with the configuration software, and can also be purchased by private individuals.

School and training licenses:
If you work at a school, training institution or university or are enrolled there, the institution can purchase so-called school and training licenses and associated hardware. These can be loaned to pupils, trainees, students or employees. However, there is no transfer of ownership, as resale is prohibited. Ask your teaching staff about this, pointing out that Siemens has special offers in hardware and software for educational institutions and training workshops.

Purchase the software from the electrical wholesaler:
If you have a customer account with the electrical wholesaler, e.g. because you have purchased materials for building a house there, you may also be able to purchase automation components there.

To "just have a look",
for the vast majority of programming software, there is the option of downloading it with a few restrictions as "test versions" or "trial software" from our customer support. The test license is usually valid for a period of 21 calendar days from the first start. After that, the software stops working. The test period cannot then be started again on the same computer without reinstalling the operating system.
