No, you won't need to use the OpenAut/CloseAut signals. You can use it to directly sent the valve to open/close position and check the feedback signals FbkOpen and FbkClose.

Using the MV_Ext is just fine. 

The VlvAnL can also be used to control an auxilliary valve connected to the analog valve.
