Is it possible to update Siemens LOGO! from version 8.3 to 8.4?

Is this update possible by downloading the appropriate firmware? Or is it necessary to replace the module with a newer LOGO! 8.4 model? I would also like to know if programs written for version 8.3 will work correctly on version 8.4 if I decide to replace the device. I would appreciate any information and guidance regarding the upgrade.

But not from V1.83.x to V1.84.x. Edit: And programs they are created for LOGO! 8.3 can also run in LOGO! 8.4 if you have LSC V8.4 and you change in the device selection LOGO! 8.3 to LOGO! 8.4.
