Dear experts,
can anyone help me in configuring the tool-management in the machine described below (each tip would be appreciated...).

It is a vertical lathe (turning machine) whith one single rotating table (the spindle) and two "carriages" (X-Z axis), each controlled by one channel and one BAG.
So, the machine has got:
- X1, Z1 on channel 1, BAG 1
- X2, Z2 on channel 2, BAG 2
- SP (spindle) shared by two channels
The machine should work exactly as if they were two separate machines (there are two MCPs); each machine has got a tool magazine realized by a "rotating wheel" with 12 positions; each "X-Z carriage" picks the tool from its own wheel.

The situation should be this:

- 2 channels
- 2 magazines (defined as chain-type?) with no relationship between them (2 TO units?)
- 2 toolholders

First step, I' ve to create the configuration files for the tool-management and to set the relevant Machine Data.
Second step, I' ve to understand how to manage the PLC interface.

I've already commissioned a lot of similar machines, but with only one channel. I've my "standard" configuration file for the tool-management and my standard PLC block (based on the FB110 supplied from Siemens as Example).

I can not make the two-channels machine working!

I've tried to use a HMI-Advanced for PC/PG for setting-up the configuration files for the tool management: I've created

- 2 magazines:

TOOLMAG1, chain magazine, 12 locations, 1 line
TOOLMAG2, chain magazine, 12 locations, 1 line

- 2 Buffer locations:

TOOLHOLDER1, type Spindle, Index 1, Number 1
TOOLHOLDER2, type Spindle, Index 2, Number 2

- the "Manual loading poont" location,

Then, under "Magazine configur.", I've created the CONFIG1 (assigned to TOOLMAG1) and the CONFIG2 (assigned to TOOLMAG2), and I've loaded the CONFIG1 into channel1 and CONFIG2 into channel2.

On the Operate screen, I see (for both channels) the right "Tools" screen, with the Spindle position and the table with 12 locations (representing the real magazine wheel).

The channel 1 seems to work, in the channel 2 when I try to create a new tool it appears a pop-up message (Error in tool load), and I don't understand why...

I don't understand if the error is in the tool-management configuration on CN side or if is in the PLC side; I've tried to by-pass the PLC software and to acknowledge manually the signal throw a VAT for understand the signals emitted by the CN, but I don't see any bit going "1" when I try to create the tool in the channel 2...

Can anyone help me or give me any tip?
