So currently I'm using a S7-1214 and a Basic Panel to control a machine. However, I'm thinking of buying a new Basic HMI to see what's happening from another room. What do I need to change in my current step? Do I really need the sm@rt licence? It might be interesting to use remote access, what do I need in that case?

If i good remember Sm@rt server from TIA V14 will no longer need to buy external license. If you use greater than TIA V14 you can just use Sm@rt server to dublicate screen

 Since TIA v15, Smartserver doesn't need a license on Comfort panels. From V17 -> no license is needed with Basic HMI's.
