Dear Siemens Support,

I am experiencing an issue with one of our SCALANCE XB216 IE SWITCH MANAGED devices (Product Code: 6GK5216-0BA00-2AB2, Firmware Version: V4.4).

The main problem is that I am unable to assign a device name, either via TIA Portal V19 or using SINEC PN Integrator. Although I successfully configured the IP address and can access the device through the Web Manager, the device name is not accepted or retained in any way.

In addition, I have attempted to perform a factory reset, but this action is not permitted, either from TIA Portal or from the Web Manager interface.

I would like to point out that the device is fully reachable on the network (pingable), and I am able to download a hardware configuration via TIA Portal without issues.

It is important to note that this is the only unit presenting this issue out of a batch of 20 identical switches that I have configured. All the others have accepted the name assignment and allowed factory reset without any problems.

I kindly request your support to understand:

• Why this specific device does not accept a name assignment
• Whether this behavior might be related to the firmware version (V4.4) or compatibility with TIA Portal V19
• How I can successfully force a factory reset in this case
