I think we have to separate this in two steps:

1.) Only the Simatic Net versions that are listed in the compatibility tool are compatible and released with WinCC:

So check out your specific WinCC Version.

2.) Only since WinCC V7.2 there is a native communicatino driver for a S71500.before this Version a direct communication is not possible.

Using OPC UA (WinCC V7.0 Sp3 or newer can act as OPC UA Client) or also the usage of a SIMATIC Net OPC Server (the OPC Server communicates with the S71500 With S7 Protocol) could be an option. But it is not possible to use a direct connection with the S7 Protocol suite channels to a S71500.
