Hi Probranko, The EP terminal on the motor module (or line module) is a plain digital input. It is used in conjunction (second path) with another plain digital input on a control unit. This combination allows you to program a Basic feature safety system. Safe Stop 1, Safe Torque Off or Safe Brake Control. Simply removing the EP signal on a drive that has not been configured WILL NOT stop the drive UNLESS it has been programmed via the Drives Safety Integrated Function in Starter/Scout. You would not believe how many people were not aware of that, because the terminal is labelled as Enable Pulses. Generally, the higher order Extended Safety functions (SLS, SOS, SS2, SSM and SBR) are utilised with F-DI inputs (not exclusively), which are available via a TM54F module or you can use Profisafe. Please refer to the latest Safety Integrated manualhere Hope this clears up some confusion. Regards, Graeme
