TP177A communication with WINCC 7.0

C3rnash Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	I have Wincc 6.2 installed on a pc running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1. I plan on upgrading the Wincc to 7.0. Since WinCC flexible 2007 is not compatible with this OS, can I install wincc Flex 2007 on another (XP) machine, and configure the TP177A to communicate directly with the WinCC 7.0 installed on the Server 2003 machine? Both are designed to connect to a PLC to collect the data they require, and do not have functionnalities that I know of to exchage data between them. However, you could use a PLC as a gateway between the two; here's one suggestion: create a DB where the TP and the SCADA will read and write data. Create tags in both systems so they can access the DB registers. Have the TP write data tosome registers, and WinCC read them, and reverse the operation so WinCC can write data to the DB that the TP will access. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
