win AC time synchronization and SFC1

mkj Posts: 4 Rating: (1)	Have an iPC477C with a Win LC RTX v.4.5 and WinCCFlexible HMI application. I have setup time synchronization to synchronize Win LC RTX with PC clock. On the WinCCFlexible application, the clock is running synchronous, but in the S7 application, I do not get the right time with SFC1. If I check the time in S7 (PLC-SET TIME OF DAY) I have another time than the one on the iPC?? any suggestions?

I am synchronizing with PC as my application often will be stand-alone, not connected to an external network. But the time in the WIN LC-RTX isNOT changing!!! The time in the HMI application though IS changing despite the fact that I has synchronized this time with the controller time. I have a TP277 6" connected as well, this is also syncronized to the controller in the same way, this works! ie showing the time of the controller, not the PC time. Might there be a"bug" in the time sync software?? Kind regards.

After digging down deep, I realized that I had not set the virtual CPU to "Slave" mode in the hardware configuration. After doing so, it all worked perfectly. What I would achieve is a local system with the iPC477C with WinLC RTX and WinCC flexible , connected to a TP277B 6" panel, all in a small local network. I use the GMP option with Audit Trail and Simatic LogOn, and here it is crucial that the time stamps are synchronized, ie. same time all over the system as I log AuditTrail in both panels as well as process data and alarms, time stamped occurences in the S7 program and so on. If/when our costumer decides to put our machine on his network, it is then easy for him to synchronize only the PC clock with his server, without any changes needed in the automation software. I find the way this can be done pretty straight-forward, as long as you remember to make ALL settings correct. I missed a short-form instruction describing exactly this, but maybe it will come.
