Web server doesnt work ? Do I need to have TIA Portal Installed?

A few days ago I tryed so and there was no way to reach the s71200 web... any clue on this? Is there any way of installing just the necessary drivers so I can use any computer to acces the s71200 web? Many thanks in advance!!

0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16371 Rating: (2522)	The trick is to make sure your PLC's tcp/ip address is accessible to the remote PC. For example, if you select 192.168.0.100 for your PLC, your PC must be able to communicate on that network. Normal gateway settings of 255.255.255.0 would require your remote PC to have an ip address on the same subnet, 192.168.0.x. If you cannot ping the PLC, the web server will likewise be inaccessible.

Hello RichardSapp, You do not need TIA Portal (STEP 7 v11) installed in order to access your Web Server of S7-1200 CPU. For more details on Accessing the Standard Web pages from PC. and Web server in S7-1200 from here.

Hi Ganes10, Would you be so kind to tell me how should I proceed to configure the PC so it can access the s71200? Im sure that Im working in the same subnet... but it is a fact that I have been able to connect with the s71200 from computers with TIA portal installed... I guess this must be becasue TIA portal adds the s71200 IP address to the PC so it can be recognized... How can I do it manually? Thanks in advance again!

0_Einstein Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16371 Rating: (2522)	On the computer you wish to connect to the PLC's web server, set an ip address in the same subnet as the plc. Let's assume the plc ip address is 192.168.0.10. The PC ip address can be anything in 192.168.0.x except 0, 1, 10, 254, and 255. Might I suggest your PC be set to a value in the high end, say 250-253 and plc be in the 20-30 range. If you make your PC and PLC ip address in the same ranges, it's easier to remember later on when someone asks what address to use for new pc or new plc.
