connecting simatic field PG M3 to S5

farzaneh Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, I have bought a simatic field PG M3 (6ES7-715-0AA01-0AD1),which simatic S5 STEP5/ST version 7.23 basic package (single license)is instulled on it.but by this software I can not link online to s5 PLCs.Iconnect the cable :6ES5734-2BD20to the COM1/TTY port of the PG.but ican not become online to yhe PLC.another way I connected th2 25pin/9pin connector to the COM1/TTY port of the PG and used tty-rs232 adaptor but it doesn't solve the problem, would every one help me how to connect to s5 plc .which cabale is required? thanks

Just Not all equipment variants of the Field PG M3 have a non-isolated interface (COM1/V.24 modem/AG) for connecting the S5 hardware. It seems you have it. I had the same problem.

Search on the web for "ethernet to s5" or "usb to S5". Make sure that the converter/driver supports your operating system. Regards. Using a PCMCIA card with RS232 COMs would be another option.
