hello all,

for my project for school i need to establish connection between an ti model 545 plc and and an op17 using the RS422 port i already know the basics like I/O configuration and how protool and tiSOFT 7.1 works but now i'm looking for an sort of alarm message from the plc if i set an input to high, so i can see that there is an connection between the panel and the plc but if i want to set an alarm message in the area pointers at protool i need to fill in a type and i don't recognize the different types  can someone explain it to me step by step.

• my setup:
• system 505 power supply
• model 545 cpu
• input simulator
• output simulator
