how to autostart Micromaster junior?

aag Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have just purchased a Micromaster Junior, for the sole mundane purpose of running a fan at low rpm (and therefore with less noise). This works wonderfully and I amhappy with my setup. However,I wish to keep things very simple. At present, the MicroMasterstarts in "stand-by" mode: this means that I need to press the "I" button in order to actually start the fan. But actually, I would wish the Micromaster to "autostart" and immediately drive the fan, as soon as it is connected to electricity, with no user intervention. Sadly, I haven't been able to configure it to do that. I would be enormously grateful if somebody would tell me the correct parameters to make this happen. many thanks in advance. AAG

Put in the beginning stitch in ON state and when powered this input with correct suply voltage drive will be start. Drive will be in stand by mode and wait for ON commands to start with speed setpoint in P005. More in manual Bu I think this not safety and watch out if you use this kind of control. regards

If I simply short control lines 1 and 5 with a wire, will the Micromaster go to the P005 frequency without having me having to push the ON button on the Micromaster? I think that I have been attempting that without success - but I will try again. Do I need to apply 10V DC to the control lines, or will this hack work even if no electricity is present on the digital input? many thanks in advance.

umencho Grandmaster Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 1/8/2026 Posts: 10247 Rating: (1183)	Hello aag, (1) Connect control terminal 5 to terminal 1 via a simple on/off switch. This sets up the inverter for clockwise rotation (default). (2) Apply mains power to the inverter. Check that parameter P006 is set to 000 to specify digital setpoint. (3) Set parameter P007 to 000 to specify digital input and disable the front panel controls. (4) Set parameter P005 to the desired frequency setpoint. (5) Set P011 to 001 to enable the new frequency setting to be retained in memory during periods when the inverter is not running. (6) Set the external on/off switch to ON. The inverter will now drive the motor at the frequency set by P005. In this way I thing will be possible drver to start immediately after receive signal ON. This means driver can be stay on power and periodicaly just to set external switch in OFF if you want to stop it. If the motor does not start up when the ON command has been given, check that the ON command is valid, check if a frequency setpoint has been entered in P005 and check that the motor specifications have been entered correctly. If the motor does not run after parameters have been changed accidentally, reset the inverter to the factory default parameter values by setting parameter P944 to 001 and then pressing P. regards

aag Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	thank you very much - your detailed instructions really helped! In the end, things were a little more complicated than we both thought. It turns out that the unit will not fire up if the control lines 1 and 5 are connected at power-on. For start, I found that 1-5 must be disconnected: the unit only starts if the connection is done at least 1" after electricity is provided to the unit. I resolved the problem by introducing an additional signal-delay relais which closes 1-5 a few seconds after powering on the Micromaster. many thanks AAG
