Logo 8.4 slave does not start

Fredjuhh Member Joined: 4/12/2018 Last visit: 2/10/2025 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	A Logo 8.4 Slave is not starting after power cycle, everytime I have to start the slave, otherwise the master and slave have no communication. If I start the slave everything is OK and works fine, but after a powercycle the slave does not start again..(B.t.w. the Master starts normal after a powercycle..) Factory reset on module didn't solve this issue. Is this a faulty one, or is this normal with the new 8.4 version? Who's got a solution? Fredjuhh

See also this topic in the German speaking part of the forum. Logo 8.4 Slave gehen nicht automatisch in Run And from Siemens no reaction to this problem. I think we must wait for the next firmware and/or software update.

Or does it solve the problem but you encountered some other problems? That's not clear for me... But I will Update the device, and see what's happenning. I called the Siemens sales team, and asking about the problem. They have not an answer, I must make also a support request.... So I need to wait before they answer. Fredjuhh

Hope this helps Hm... there is not only the deliberate switching off of the power supply, sometimes you have no influence over it if the power supply is switched off due to an error. And there are cases where all LOGO!s are from the 8.4 series. And then what? Simply don't use a slave just because Siemens has a fault in the firmware? It seems that Siemens is becoming the norm to suggest workarounds instead of troubleshooting.

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 35914 Rating: (4496)	The problem "LOGO! 8.4 slave does not start after power failure" was solved with the firmware update to V1.84.03. I upgraded the firmware and tested it, and the error was fixed. You can download the soft- and firmware update from here: Firmware update for LOGO! 8.4 basic devices and service pack 1 for LOGO! Soft Comfort V8.4

Strange thing on my side : I didn't got a message you posted your last message. Otherwise I would know it 2 days earlier
