Simotion Scout is automatic during install integrated in the Simatic SW.

Simotion Scout V5.1 for Step7 V5.6 and Simotion Scout TIA V5.1 for Tia Portal V15.

Install first Step7 V5.6 and then Tia Portal V15.

After that install Simotion Scout V5.1 and SImotion Scout TIA V5.1.

there is no standalone version available!

SCOUT stand-alone also includes the components of STEP 7 that are required for SIMOTION SCOUT (SIMATIC CPUs cannot be programmed).

for starter only the integrated and Standalone available.

Starter for TIA is not exist here the new tool Startdrive must be used (not all sinamics devices supported in startdrive).

if you update the project included SIMOTION PLC from V5.1 to V5.2 you must also change the FW on the SIMOTION.

You must load the new Version to the target.

then you can not longer use it with V5.1!

if you want to update do it, you must not update anything.

i edit my post the not was missing

a project download don't update the FW of the devices, the FW Update must done by you with memory card or webserver for each device.

if you update the project and the PLC to V5.2 you can only go online to a V5.2 PLC with the projected V5.2 PLC.

If you only update the Project and don't update the PLC you can go online to a V5.1 PLC because in the project the PLC is V5.1.

Online and offline PLC must have the same version to get online.

in Scout there are 2 Updates:
1.) Projectupdate

if you open a older project (V5.1) with newer Scout (V5.2) the project is upgraded/converted to the new Project version (V5.2), all devices in the project are not updated and have the old FW Versions (V5.1) , with this you can go online and download.
No new V5.2 features are available in this case.

2.) Programm/Device Update
After the projectupdate you can perform ofline a Update of the devices in the project to newer versions.
Then the devices in the project are newer(V5.25) then the online target (V5.1), in this case scout can't go online because the FW Offline and Online is different and incompatible.

So if you perform Step 2 you must also update the online target to the new versions (update with memcard or webserver) to download the updates projectdata.
