Dear sir

In my industry, we have sinamics control unit CU240E-2 for 132kw blower motor. Whenever I have little power fluctuations my drive unit was immediately tripped. That time fault message was f30003 and f30002 was coming

For this issue which parameters need to check and adjust. Please suggest me.

What is the Setting in p1300?

The SINAMICS has two different VdcMaxMin Controller.

One for V/f and one for p1300>= 20.

 the setting of P1300 was 0..

Check value in p0210, p1254 & 1294.

If 1254 & 1294 = 0, set 1255 & 1295 = 1 sec.

 the values P0210 = 400

P1254 = 1

P1294 = 0

P1255 = 0 sec

P1295 = 0.5 sec.

These are the above values entered in my drive

Set 1254 & 1294 = 0. This will de-activate auto detection & p0210 will be checked.

P1255 & P1294 = 1 sec. So 1 sec time delay for threshold monitoring for DC link under/over voltage will be set. If DC link will be under/overvoltage depends upon supply line voltage & will activate if it is more than 1 sec.

What is mean by Braking chopper and braking resistor,what is the purpose to use this ?give me solution.

wheather power fluctuation will impact by braking chopper?

Breaking resistor - In case of regeneration i.e. braking/stoping/deaccleration of motor, energy from motor is fed back to drive (into DC bus) which causes DC bus voltage of drive to increase. In order to safe guard DC bus & other component, this DC voltage is either divereted or fed back either to AC main supply or is dropped across resistor. The resistors which are used to transfer this DC voltage into heat form are known as breaking resistors.

DC chopper is circuit which regulates/monitors flow of DC current thru breaking resistors & incase of any abnormalities, its potential free contacts change overs, which can be interfaced to drive or controller as feedback. 

In you case, please check the application & frequency of supply voltage fluctuations.

In my system below items was installed for 132 kw blower motor, please lookup it, 

For this system only, I have main power fluctuations happening for 4-5 times per day. Sometime 2 times happening.. But power fluctuations happening daily. 

I have 2 nos blower system both get tripped when power fluctuations happen. I need to adjust the some parameter which should not be trip. Also, my drive should not damage. 

Please sir give some suggestions...

1. Does your plant incoming power fluctuates or supply voltage fluctuates only to this drive?

2. If power fluctuation problem is for only drive, have you analyze the reason of power fluctuation? e.g. is there any heavy load operation i.e. starting of heavy induction motor which draws high inrush current that causes supply line voltage dips, supply cable size, load distribution network etc. etc.

3. Carry out the power analysis at drive input supply. Check supply fluctuation, dips, peak values (minimum & maximum) If those are more than drive supply line tolerance i.e. +/- 10% then you need to check for appropriate device/equipment at drive input supply. If supply fluctuation is within drive supply tolerance, please set the parameters as explained in my earlier post.

My plant total incoming power in HT line itself power fluctuation was there.

It was affecting all system,

Here my question was, we have compressors which have same SInamics drive ,during same little power fluctuation it was not tripping and no process affects. But same sinamics drive we have in 132kw blower motor - 2 units, these both unit was tripped in overvoltage fault(F30002).

why it was happening in only the blowers ?

Anything parameters need to adjust or application was differ ?

For F30002 fault, extracts from Siemens manual are as below.

First you need to check r0949 value which will help you to find out fault value & will help to analyse problem.

As suggested, try by increasing ramp down time p1121.

The power unit has detected an overvoltage condition in the DC link.

- motor regenerates too much energy.

- line supply voltage too high.

- line phase interrupted.

- DC link voltage control switched off.

- dynamic response of DC link voltage controller excessive or insufficient.

Fault value (r0949, interpret decimal):

DC link voltage at the time of trip [0.1 V].

Remedy: -increase the ramp-down time (p1121).

- set the rounding times (p1130, p1136). This is particularly recommended in U/f operation to relieve the DC link

voltage controller with rapid ramp-down times of the ramp-function generator.

- Activate the DC link voltage controller (p1240, p1280).

- adapt the dynamic response of the DC link voltage controller (p1243, p1247, p1283, p1287).

- check the line supply and DC link voltage. set p0210 as low as possible (also see A07401, p1294 = 0).

- check and correct the phase assignment at the power unit.

- check the line supply phases.

First you need to check r0949 value which will help you to find out fault value & will help to analyse problem.

As suggested, try by increasing ramp down time p1121.

From your above data, your application is blower, control mode = U/F linear, please check value in r1282. It should be ~ 650 V DC. Set p0210 = 380 volt & check. If the problem persist, set P1121 = 120 sec & check. 

Moreover please check if braking resistors are installed & in case if yes, check the value of braking resistors.

In my system Braking resistor was not available. Only built-in Braking chopper in drive was available.

If Braking resistors was not available ,whether it will create problem ?

If, I change any parameters which you have said,Whether drive will be damage or anything blast can happen ?

In case of power fluctuations drive enable signals will get reset but F30002 will not be there since ramp down time is increased (p1121 = 120 sec insted of 60 sec) DC bus voltage will not overshoot.

Was there short circuit at drive output?

Was blast at capacitor modules?

Was blast at DC bus/IGBT modules etc etc?

You must have received Siemens service report in case if you have got it repaired from Siemens.

If frequent ovevoltage at DC bus had occured in past, it might lead to failure of DC bus protection & cause drive failure. My suggestion to you is, contact your nearest Siemens service/support center & consult to add DBR to your drive in order to protect DC bus.

Sir, even our drive going under same problem. Drive trips on F0003 immediately at minor power dips.

P1300 is found 0.

Shall I set to 20? 

If I set p1254=0, does drive fail to trip even at major power dips? 

Which parameter I need to modify on ?
