Communication issue of WinCC V7.2

Lvovich13 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am experiencing a communication issue of WinCC V7.2 project with PCL CPU416-2 DP (6ES7416-2XN05-0AB0) + CP443-1 (6GK7443-1EX20-0XE0). I have no acces to the real PLC, so I run the PLC project in S7-PLCSIM Prof. 2010 SR4 (V5.4 SP5 Upd.2). An error message in the WinCC\Diagnose\SIMATIC_S7_PROTOCOL_SUITE_01.LOG file is "Cannot connect to "LineMaster": Errorcode 0xFFDF 42C2". Siemens SW installed is as follows: TCP/IP connection parameter in WinCC is as The PLC Ethernet interface setting is as The PLC is online Is any idea, please? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from WinCC Connections with simatic.

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello Lvovich13, the Errorcode 0xFFDF 42C2 means the logical device is not defined in the registry. · Communication driver not correctly installed. · Registry entry destroyed or deleted. · Check the setting of the logical device name with the program ‘Setting the PG/PC Interface’. · Check the setting of the logical device name in the window ‘System Parameters-Device’. Lvovich13 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Thank for responding, Do not you think that it is somehow related to the PLC type? In my case it is S7 CPU 416-3 DP. I also tested another project based on CPU 414-3 PN/DP with the same result. But the project based on CPU 319F-3 PN/DP works just fine. Also, could you clarify where to find the window ‘System Parameters-Device’? Of course, I selected PLCSIM interface in the PG/PC PLC is online and I can monitor it from the Simatic Manager. Thanks

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello Lvovich13, the logical Devicename for PLCSIM should not depend on the type of the real PLC. see manual "WinCC V7.5 SP1: Configuration and communication" "How to Configure the System Parameters" You need to select S7ONLINE as logical devicename for the subchannel "TCPIP".
