Communication PC-station and IM158-8 with Softnet

AXIS Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi, It´s the first time I work with Softnet-S7 Lean and I need some help to get started. I use one IM151-8 PN/DP CPU to regulate the temperature in a number of reservoirs. On the other side, I have installed SIMATIC NCM Manager on a Windows 2008 server. Communication will be over Ethernet. On the same server I have installed a SCADA-system where the operators can have an eye on the regulation. To configure the PLC I use step7 and NCM Manager for the PC-station on the server. My questions: 1. which protocol should I use (send/receive, S7 Communication)? 2. Where do I configure the network, in the IM158-8 project or in the PC-station project? 3. Can I diagnose the communication somewhere? 4. Do I need to write any program in the PLC to make it work? I have found a lot of manuals for this subject but nothing that suit my application. Hope to get some help from the experts Best regards AXIS
