it's an old topic, still interesting for me though. I have a device with allocated addresses. There're no PLC tags created in this memory range.

But there's still nothing in the Assignment list...

Why did I look at this topic? I was trying to find easily a link between Profinet device overview and Program blocks. I found my device in Network view, but had no idea where FB for this device was. Stupid, but I had to look for it manually going through the whole code. I wonder if an elegant way exists...

Unfortunately I have't found more then I saw before. In Netwrok view there are no addresses, in Device view only what I mentioned before. Might you mean another panel?

There are data types. But as I understand it should point to an address in PLC tags. Is there another way to map I/O to UDT?

I'll try to explain my confusion. It's not a question, just some thoughts.

The developper didn't use any varibles (including those with UDT) for the specified memory areas. So there are several devices added to Profinet netwotrks with allocated memory in IO-controler. And the ways to find a link between hardware and software are complicated. First is to track down the hardware identifiers

If they are assigned like this (in red), we can't cross-reference them:

The second way is find FB for the device and cross-refernce it. But of course for this you need to know its name. That's why I wondered if another "good" way exists...
