Hi,

I'm using Automation Compare Tool with TIA Portal and it seems to me that it only works with ladder logic and not with SCL.

Is there a way to use the ACT with SCL? Everthing is working fine in ladder so I assume that ACT tool configuration is correct.

If not, which tool I can use to track the SCL files changes prior to commit them?

Sorry, I didn't quite understand what you mean by the tool that I used to transfer yout program files to SimaticML.

I'm using Windows 11 and TIA v18. Is it possible that this tool isn't supported in these versions?

Hi Bruno,

SIMATIC Automation compare tools does not support SCL, only LAD/FBD.
With regards to SCL you could try to use the ASCII-File format *.scl.
This can be easily compared in any textual compare editor.
If you use TIA Portal Version Control Interface this can be configured in the settings.

Just be aware that *.scl -format does misses several attributes, e.g. multilingual comments, prodiag supervisions, block numbering, etc...

Could you go back to the screenshot I posted with my last reply and by the same token dowload (and study) the document it is taken from?

"The objects must be in SimaticML format. SimaticML is a Siemens proprietary XML format for STEP 7 program objects. You can use tools such as TIA Portal Openness and Version Control Interface (VCI) to save STEP 7 objects to SimaticML files."
