CPU failure - Forcing outputs

I am doing a project in which I should, in case of a CPU failure, force all the analog and digital outputs to a value that keep the process in a secure state. I´d like to know how can I identify this failure in the program, and what kind programming logic should I use after the detection of the failule to force these outputs. Thank you

mmcneto Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	In this case I want to switch off 2 of my digital outputs(forcing them), but keeping the analog outputs and the other digital outputs. Because in this process I have to control a pump that keep a certain fuel level in a tank. But if the the CPU fail, this pump must stop, and his stopage depends on these two digital outputs.

If you want to be sure the system is safe you should consider a redundant system. For a quick overview in the program it should be written in CFC and Graph , those language is really good for process systems. And use the “report system error” for detecting faults in the PLC hardware
