Issues with setting up IOT2050 Advanced FS 07(putty access)

AutoGen_1952441 Member Joined: 11/28/2018 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	We recently purchased IOT2050 Advanced (6ES7647-0Ba00-1YA2). I am having some difficulty setting up the device. When I try to set up the device via Putty, it is giving incorrect password. As per manual, username and password is root. The example image used is V1.3.1 and loaded this to the sd card using win32 diskimager. The device is working by the way because I am able to ping the device and able to access the node Red IDE. I have purchased this device before but never faced this issue. One difference I noticed with previous device, is that current model is FS07 whereas models I have worked with previously is FS05. Is there any change in configuration setup for the newer model? I tried also using older image file (1.2.2) but no success. I even tried boot with 16 GB flash drive in both USB port. Also no success. I also tried to connect directly to monitor (with keyboard) but also same. Is there a change in the username/password? Also I noticed this version of the device seem to be able to work even without SD card. Is there an image file already preloaded?

As you are using the IOT2050 Advanced there is a pre-installed IndOS V3.2.3 on the eMMC and by default it's booting from the eMMC. Please have a look into our How to setup IOT2050 with IndOS to get detailed information. Instead of using SSH via PuTTY. Can you please connect an UART cable for serial connection or a keyboard and DP monitor to access the device? Try to connect from there. -> Example Image should be accessible via SSH by default / IndOS only after first commissioning. username / password should always be root by default. Please also check your keyboard settings. As the username / password is not working all the time I assume you are booting from the IndOS maybe? Please also try to download a fresh V1.3.1 Image from our Download Page and write in on the SD card. BR
