Upgrade v15 WinCC runtime

I imported the zap16 file into my WinCC v20 and can make edits. I know I cannot save the runtime as v15, so I assume I need to upgrade the runtime license on the client machine. Do I buy a v20 runtime license for the client's machine and then copy my v20 runtime to that machine? Is there a step by step procedure?

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 16290 Rating: (1930)	Hello AutoGen_6674958 you have to seperate between an engineering license (here WinCC Advanced is available also up to V20) and the Runtime license (the latest Version and also license for WinCC Advanced RT is only available up to !!V17!!). So the best would be you by an upgrade of the runtime License up to V17 and in the TIA V20 project, you set the Device Version of your WinCC Advanced Runtime to V17 (newest you can set) A good overview to all licenses is in the delivery release in the orderdata excellist: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109963793 Bye Murof
