I just wanted to ask about an issue which I faced in TIA Administrator when I wanted to configure central user management on a PC.

I made installed and configured the UMC Server on a virtual machine, and it seems ok because I am able to connect using the WebUI.

On another PC where I have TIA Portal installed; I wanted to configure the "Agent" in TIA Administrator. When I added the server's name (without https) I get an error.

I saw in documentation and in a tutorial video that Domani Name Resolution should be available.

What is strange for me is if I use the name to ping my server it is working correctly.

Do you know what else can cause the below error?

The UMC Agent cannot be connected to the server: UM Ring ServeR ... cannot be reached

Unfortunately, not.... The issue still persists; I tried to check some IT security policies, but everything looks good.

I opened a support request ticket, and I get a response about the ports used by UMC WebUI :

: Standard Ports for UMC and LDAP: Port 443 (HTTPS): For accessing the Univention Management Console (UMC). Port 7389 (LDAP): For LDAP communication within the Univention system. Ports for Internal Communication: Port 6669: Typically used for Ring server communication. Port 11311 (optional): If additional services or diagnostic tools are in use

Maybe you can check if one of them is locked.

I have some updates on this issue. Please check if on the PC(which you want to attach to the UMC Server) if the service “UMC Secure Communication" is running.

I attached a document which could be helpful to check some additional points.

Currently I am blocked by an error in TIA Portal, which appears when I want to synchronize with UMC Server.

I checked and changed the password of the UMC user which has Administrator role, but the error still appears.
