Subroutine and Interrupt differences

danfenton Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to condense and organise a program in Step 7-Micro/WIN to make it easier for the client to follow. There is a set of networks associated with a particular alarm which i would like to remove from OB1. After reading some documentation i cannot decide whether a subroutine or interrupt would be more appropriate for this. The process occurs when an input bit signals high it then executes some code to make a light flash then stay stationary when an accept button is pressed. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Dan

In fact you can use both, but I think if you want to link the "alarm networks" with rising edge input then you better you interrupt routine and link it with the rising edge. danfenton Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi, Thanks for the reply, i have attached an extract of the program for you to take a look at. If i'm getting this right, i need to call the interrupt using the ATCH command and specify the enable bit which should be the input which sets the alarm (I0.4 in the program). I'm assuming then i need to move all the bits associated with this code to different memory locations to allow it to operate in the INT_0 pou? Thanks again Dan Attachment Alarms.zip (287 Downloads)
