Timmy Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	I can connect to the Simoreg DC Master fine via DriveMonitor but I do not have any access to the H and L technology parameters. Any ideas how or why this is happening? I have tried to create an empty parameter set but when choosing the techonology type there are multiple choices for a T400 and do not know which one to choose. I am still new to this system so if additional infomation is needed just let me know.

Select "Generate base data" and generate the base data for the device identified. Then enter the correct device version in property dialog of the drive. After this you should be able to access all paremeters. However to access T400 program, you would need STEP-7 + D7 Sys software and suitable serial cable. Regards Navnag

Depending on the progamming is if and what parameters you have. The technology parameters (i forgott which letters they have, but H and L can be correct) only exist if they are defined in the T400. Do you know which programming you have in the T400 running? Do you know the order number of the T400 ?

Timmy Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	First off thank you both for the prompt reply. Navnag your instructions were spot on and it worked well (although the generate database took forever). Miami unfortunaetly I do not know if there was a pre-programmed loaded into the unit. The spare part number I have on the T-400 is just the standard "empty" model. A laptop with the Step-7 and D7 sys software to connect and load the program that was provided at the end of the project, however when I tried to connect to the one installed to the drive with Dust Protocol and a serial cable going to pins 67-69 and failed. I used a siemens manual called configuring T-400 as a step by step but was unsuccessful. Any tips or tricks to the connection process?

Please ensure that : a) The Cable ( All three pins 67,68,69 ) continuity is OK. b) Correct COM Port is selected in DUST protocol settings c) Your COM port is otherwise functioning normally ( These days most of the PCs do not have a COM port and using USB-Serial convertors often gives problems. Timmy Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Navnag, I have a laptop with a serial com port and do have dust protocol selected and the right pinout cable verifred to be correct but cannot go online from the cfc editor. When I click test mode from the cfc editor I get an error as seen in the attached CFC_ERROR. When I click to go online from simantic manager it does go online but I do not have the options to see what I need to see attached ONLINE?. I do not know if the program that is on my laptop is exactly the same as the one in the drive, but I do not want to overwrite that one because we have been running on it for a year now. Would putting in a spare T-400 and downloading the program on the laptop help in my ability to go online in the CFC editor? I need to see what a couple of blocks in the CFC are doing in real time because from what I see and what I read some funky things are going on with the NAV block and a limit value monitor block. The nav block is linked to the encoder #2 on the T-400 board. The encoder is wired up with A and B channels only with the Z signal not coming from the encoder but rather a mounted prox to resest. The limit value block is setup to look at the YP of the nav block and below a certain value (20 degrees) enable the SP of the NAV block. From the process I am guessing that the SP has to be a 1 for the Z signal to come in and properly reset the encoder value to 360 degrees. Do you perhaps know more about the workings of the Z reset signal from enocoder #2 and how it works behind the scences with the NAV block and SP input to that NAV block. I can try to give you more information if needed but without going into test mode I cannot see exactly what is going on.

Navnag Platinum Member Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 7/25/2025 Posts: 2326 Rating: (309)	Dear Timmy After you open any CFC block that you want to see in realtime, First Pl check : CPU-> Module Information If you get an error msg at this stage then pl go back to basics of cheching Settings in PG-PC interface, ( Whether DUST protocol is selected with correct COM port, Cable is OK etc. etc. ) If you can see the module status window and not an error msg, then Congrats, you are online. Onceonline,Pl Select : Debug -> Test Mode and you should be able to see the selected Page / Block status ( If the Offline and Online Programs Match ) Hope this helps Regards Navnag
