MPI network with Redundant CPUs

However, you may suffer from slow communication between CPUs. You can change your redundant link from MPI to Profibus or Ethernet if you canafford more money. If you are going to stick to MPI then I advise you tominimize the transferred data between the 2 CPUs as less as you can. Best regards. H-H

BilalD Posts: 157 Rating: (10)	Dear H-H, i faced a problem within this network, I reduced the data exchange between CPUs as possible as i can, and i made the needed configuration in the HMI (OP270) program in order toreceivethe data from the Master CPUs, but this didn't work, i tried to disconnect 2 CPUs and 1 HMI from the MPI network, the HMI starts reading tags from the connected CPU. and yes, i am stuck with the MPI network.. Is it a problem for the OP270 to connect to 4 CPUs (315-2DP)??? Or the baud rate is too slow??? Or there is too much components in the network?? I hope you answer me as soon as possible.. Regards,

Or the baud rate is too slow??? Or there is too much components in the network?? According to this FAQ, it's possible to have 6 CPUs connected to OP270. I don't think that this problem is related to baud rate. Dear H-H, 1- I don't have any duplicated MPI addresses (Sure). 2- I disconnect one Master&Reserve CPUs and one HMI. 3- I reaches the Master CPUs through the ConnectionChange Function in the HMIs. and the settings for the connections are: Only one Master (Disabled) Cyclic Operation (Enabled) Thanks for your help. If you don't just make a test screen with 2 variables from 2 masters. When you connect all nodes to network, do you lose communication with both master CPUs? or just one of them? You can also try to split your network and see if each split network (2 CPUs with one HMI) works well. If you are sure they work well, start connecting the 2 HMIs to just 2 CPUs. If it works fine put the other 2 CPUs again in the network and tell how it reacts. I don't have something in my mind now. Check termination resistance. Check change connection function again. Note that you will be having 2 change connection functions and your tags should be distributed over 2 connections. Best regards. H-H
