Hello Joe R. S5 does not have a HWconfig like S7, in your case the addressing is done via DIP switches on the I/O cards (good news in this case of a 135/155 system as it means that if you move a card from one Slot to another, it's address travels with it). As for moving cards around you will however have to check which card can be used in what Slot of your Central Rack. DI,DQ,AI and AQ cards can be located in any Slot of the central rack except for the 2nd (where the CPU is). CP's, IP's, IM'sand CPU's are however more restricted in their possible placement. Have a look at chapter 4.1 of THIS manual which has an overview table of which cards can be operated in what Slot. A Coordinator card purpose is for Multi CPU coordinatonand is not used for I/O address assignment (you'll do this in DB1 of each CPU). If you do have a Coordinator card, you may want to read up on its usage in the manual for your CPU(if you have a 948 CPU you can find its manual HERE) as you will need to enable the necessary IPC flags for the CPU that needs to communicate with your new CP1430 (and there may be other things to note about it, its been way to long since I last used one). I hope this helps to get you started. |
