I have recently been tasked with getting a way for a new piece of equipment we have to communicate with s5 via TCP/IP. I'm pretty sure I need to be using the CP1430 TCP but ran into a problem when I went to try and install it. My entire rack (S5-155U) is full, except for the verylast slot (22 or 23 I believe). After doing some reading, I've found I cannot install this CP1430 card in that very last slot.

What I would like to do is possibly swap another card that will work in that last slot, (like an IM card)so I can use that middle slot for the CP card. I am new at making hardware changes to S5 and don't know really know how to go about doing this and how complex (or hopefully easy ) this might be.We havewell established program running and it is a forbidden sin where I work to stop the production line for any significant length of time....so I REALLY don't want to mess what we currently have up. I understand S7 and can make hardware changes fairly well in that, but I don't really see in the S5 software where to make hardware changes, such as addressing and slot locations and the like. (I sort of know about setting up the CP card, Im speaking more specifically of setting up a rack).
Does anyone have any info about this or experience in doing something like this? I'd greatly appreciate the help.
