Problem to select a cable for communication

I have a problem to select a communication cable for S7-300 and S7- 200 PLC. 1) I want to use MPI USB cable for S7-300 PLC without a PC adaptor OR without a CP5512, CP5611, CP5711. May I will be able to connect to S7-300 PLC with above selection? Is it necessary to purchase a CP card with MPI cable? 2) I want to use a PPI USB cable without any PC adaptor for S7-200 PLC. May I will be able to directly connect my PC to S7-200 PLC without use of any PC adaptor? Please let me know complete suggesion because I am a new user andcost is more important for me.
