Reference Bit in DWORD

Tyhoon Regular Member Joined: 9/1/2010 Last visit: 8/29/2025 Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hi, I want to use the bits in a DWORD to represent faults of a system for example: //0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0001 General Fault bit if any of the following bits are set, so will this one. //0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0010 Inlet Air Pressure High Fault //0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0100 Inlet Air Pressure Low Fault //0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 1000 Differential Pressure across Air Filter High .......etc And this some of the code out of the function block that I am trying to monitor the General Fault bit. However, I get a fault stating "Invalid variable; period not allowed" in regard to trying to reference it by using "Fault.0". So my question is, how do I reference and perform conditional assessments on individual bits within a DWORD? //Start of sample code FUNCTION_BLOCK SystemControl Var Fault_Code : DWORD; END_VAR BEGIN IF Fault_Code.0 THEN //Shutdown system END_IF; END_FUNCTION_BLOCK //End of sample code Thanks in advance!

Ps hdhosseini the last if statement for test 5 should be "IF((hd)AND(dw#16#10))..." I had problems when investigating your code. But i am a newb so it was good to exercise referencing using the hex memory address. Thanks
