Communication of S5 with Sinamics S120 Drives

Right now masterdrives are communicating with S5 plc with IM (6ES5 308 -3UB11). Can any one tell me same IM can be used for communicating with S120Drives.. If yes...please tell modifications are required in hardware and software. If no...then which IM can be used ?? Regards Ahmed

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello Ahmed I'm afraid to say you can NOT use your IM308B (6ES5 308-3UBxx) with the S120 (unless you'll find a COMET200 useable typefile for it) and will need to use an IM308C (6ES5 308-3UCxx)together withCOM Profibus V5.x for the configuration.
