Sm@rtClient License and Firmware upgrade

chrispy102 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, I need to modify a HMI which has a Sm@rtAccess license and will involve an OS update. I assume this will wipe other stuff including the Sm@rtclient / Access license. Does the license reside on the actual HMI hardware and can it be removed/re-installed with a USB stick or other medium following an OS update?

After removing the license from panel, you can perform an OS update. Then you will have to transfer project again and you have to tranfer license to panel. Best regards, Wizard

Open Step7 and set PC/PG Interface to PC Adapter (MPI) Open - Automation license manager Select Edit Connect target system Connect HMI device Set Device Type to MP 277 10" Touch (or what ever your type is) Set Connection to MPI/Profibus Set MPI/DP address to HMI Address (ensure no conflict with you) Click Ok HMI device should appear in project pane
