Process Image Problem

S7Mgr Advanced Member Joined: 1/22/2008 Last visit: 2/10/2022 Posts: 77 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I am havinga Atlas Copco nut runner controller on Profibus talking with my PLC CPU 317-2DP/PN, communication and I/O mapping is done. The data from Atlas Copco controller goes to PIW 600 and it reads from PQW 600 as you can see the HW Configuration file attached herewith. My question is that in my user program I am using address offset 600 because my FB is written such that I have to give address offset (INTEGER Value for eg. 600)and address length (for eg. 68 Bytes IN and 4 Bytes OUT), block works fine and I can see data going to I 600 and Q 600 but it is not going to my Atlas Copco controller, because as I said earlier this device is accessing PIW and PQW area of a CPU. How can I change this area in order to talk with device in full auto mode. I need some urgent as its on ASAP basis. Regards, S7Mgr Attachment hwcfg.jpg (138 Downloads)

Hello S7Mgr the distinction between Peripheral (e.g. PIW, PQW) and Process Image related acccess (e.g. IW and QW) is only made inside theS7 program, which meansyour Atlas Copco DP Slave does not know nor cares about this (it's all I/O's for it, irrespective if the S7 treats them as Process Image and/or peripheral I/O's). As such, I can't really tell you what your problem is, but wonder if you S7 program perhaps usesProcess Image I/O'sbut does not have a large enough Process Image?
