Hello Armendd; Welcome to our Siemens A&D forum. To setup connections for Profibus-DP on a S7 CPU, you need to look at the following document: SIMATIC Configuring Hardware and Communication Connections STEP 7 V5.5 Chapter 3 shows how to configure the HWConfig editor to setup Profibus-DP slaves to the CPU's Profibus-DP master, how to select slaves (mostly Siemens) from the Profibus catalog (where you should find your DP/AS-i link), and how to integrate gsd files for non-Siemens slaves that are not in the catalog (such as your SEW drives). gsd files are text files that contain all pertinent information for a slave to exchange data with a Profibus-DP msaster. It is the responsability of the manufacturer of the slave to proviude this file for integration in the various Profibus configurators in the market. So, search the SEW downloads site for the gsd file pertaining to your model of drive: http://www.sew-eurodrive.com.au/support/software_result.php?woher=software_result&software_searchword=***All***&software_produkt=&software_gruppe=6&software2=start+search If you cannot locate your exact model, I suggest you contact SEW and ask them for the correct gsd file (and the operations manual for the drive that addresses Profibus-DP exchanges). Please take care that you get your hands on the communication manuals for the slaves you plan to use: to configure them properly you must understand how they must be setup as slaves, and then you must know how you need to program the CPU to actually do something with the data you collect from or send to the slaves. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
