I have a TP700 Comfort Panel and I'm wondering whether it is possible to use it as a FTP server? I cannot find any tips and informations in the internet. I know that it is possible with panels of other manufacturers but what does it look like in Siemens?

Hello, no, they are not designed to do that natively.

Just a curiosity, why you need that ? Do you need at all cost the FTP connection ?

The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is one of the classic, standardized options of exchanging data with PCs or any heterogeneous computer system . It is especially useful to extract files ( e.g. Report files )  from HMI panels.

BTW Siemens PLC do support some FTP Functionality :

FTP communication with S7-300/400

FTP Client Communication with S7-1200/1500

FTP communication with S7-1500 and CP 1543-1

Can you post a link where there possible to do FTP with a BASIC panel ? I don't think it is natively possible

However some old Siemens WIndows based HMIs and Some Non Siemens HMIs do Support HMI.

How do you transfer data from a server to a Windows-based panel via the FTP protocol?

A possible arkane options would be installing an ftp client in the os of hmi... But it is pretty uncharted...
