Update from which version?

Actual you can't buy the V13 from siemens, only the V13 SP1.

Hi.

There is a very good chance that you have already been answered completely. I however understand your question a little bit different.

TIA Portal V13 has two branches: (29 April 2016)
a) version 13 without any "service pack" ... V13 SP0
b) version 13 with service pack 1 .. V13 SP1

Each of these branches have their own "updates".
So you may have TIA Portal V13 SP0 Update 2 but TIA Portal V13 SP1 Update 1 will still be a later edition of the software. Using an update meant for V13 SP0 will not make it V13 SP1. Also V13 SP0 can not be updated with updates meant for V13 SP1. To go to V13 SP1, you first have to go through the base version of V13 SP1 (Update 0).

We currently (29 April 2016) have
the latest version and update at TIA Portal V13 SP1 Update 8.

The good news is that you can upgrade/update without charge from any version inside V13 to the latest version.

When going from V13 SP0 to the newest version,
I recommend the following steps..
* Deactivate the anti-virus software (temporary)

* Remove license from PC (Move license to license disk)

* Complete uninstall of TIA V13 SP0 [LINK]

* Install the TIA V13 SP1 trial software [LINK]  (with Admin rights)

* Install Update 8 [LINK] (with Admin rights)

* Restore the license

* Restore the anti-virus software
