You will wait until this reflects in Step7,  but I think this will not take too much time and a new SP will be released to instal directly.

You can get the PCS7 8.2 media DVD and instal Step7 from it.

Good news

As of yesterday Siemens had issued the new Operating systems compatibilities for STEP 7 (STEP 7 Professional) which indicates that Step 7 SP4 Upd9 (2010 SR4) is compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition (64-Bit)

This was a part of PCS7 8.2 Compatibility List that was issued 25-4-2016

I think this will be updated in Step 7 soon

Anyone tried to install STEP7 V5.5 SP4 (or latest version) on Windows Server 2012 [Urgent] ?

I found it is available to install on Windows Server 2008. It is possible to install on Windows Server 2012?

The HF9 need a installed Step7 V5.5 SP4! And V5.5 SP4 can't installed on Windows Server 2012!

Kindly note that Upd9 is not officially released yet for Step7 the announcement is a matter of time because it is already released in PCS7. 

You can order PCS7 online by this link 6ES7658-4XX28-0YG8 install it and open your project using Step7 licence and this will work,as long as you do not use PCS7 tools

Extract the PCS 7 v8.2 to a local location.

Browse to DVD1  and search for Step 7 5.5

Run the setup.exe via command promt with the following parameters

Setup.exe /w /l1033 /v"AV_EXAMPLES=0 AV_TRIALLICENSE=0 OF_NO_OS_CHECK=1 commandline=-OF:[OPFILEOLD]

Step 7 now installs on server 2012R2

Well good news for you.

The STEP 7 V5.6 has been released for delivery.

and it's work for your system (and windows 10)
