There are RCCB on Types "AC" & "A" .

As we known that "AC" type RCCB protect only against AC leakage currents.

"A" type RCCB protect against AC and pulsating DC leakage currents.

It seems "AC" type RCCB can be replaced by "A" type RCCB

May i ask:

What is the "AC" type RCCB used for?

What is the advantage of  "AC" type RCCB compared with "A" type RCCB?

we don't know an advantage of an AC type RCCB, maybe it is cheaper than type A. But you need take into account, that beside the technical limitations of type AC regarding pulsating DC residual currents, it is not authorized in every country for residual current protection, e.g. in Germany it is not released to be used for residual current protection according to DIN VDE 0100-530 standard.

Do you mean Type A RCCB can fully replace Type AC RCCB in technical side?

How about Tripping characteristic betwwen type AC RCCB and type A RCCB? Please advise.
