TIA 14 / KTP 400 (2nd Gen)

I have a physical push button I would like to use to acknowledge all alarms at once.

I have set up discrete alarms as bits in words and that seems to work ok.

When I go to set up the PLC acknowledge tag, however, it seems to want a bit in a word. I create a new work called Acknowledge and have my push button write to bit 1. However, I still can't get TIA to accept it. 

I am obviously doing something horribly wrong.

Hi,

I assume you mean physical button on your KTP panel..

Highlight your button. Go to Properties -> Properties -> general and untick 'Use global assignment'

Click 'Events' Tab -> Release key -> <Add functions>  and choose 'AlarmViewAcknowledgeAlarm'

Sorry, no, I mean a push button attached to a digital input.

 But the Alarms are in HMI?

you have the possibility to create "Bit Messages" in HMI and there you make the assignment in "Properties > Acknowledgment". You find further informtion under the following link:
