Kindly , does the  mpi  cable work for going online on all s7200 plc's ?  

Or do we need  pc/ppi  cable for some old versions of s7200's ?  

Note that we are using a Siemens field pg m4 .

Hello,

MPI profile not to all S7-200 family in my opinion, especially not to 21X types. On your M4 you have integrated CP5711 which can have Profibus DP profile. In this case you can use this profile for all 21X and 22X family CPUs. I think you don't need other cable (adapter) because CP5711 is enough for connection, but with correct profile selected.
