Since I got weird problems while working with pcs7, goes back 1-2 years, I want to do everything by the book..The laptop is being used to create projects for customers, I also have VM ware installed.
Using it this way, should not be a problem then, according to your experience....

Hi, just to add the oil on the fire. 

I have just tried to install PCS 7 v8.0 with many components. When it was near the end, only several points left including Simatic NET, only when I faced this point (Simatic Net) did I get the error message that my computer does not adhere to naming rules!!!!

It took only about 2.5 hours and cca 20 components for Siemens installation wizard to figure that out, and to tell me that?! In this case you can't blame MS SQL developers.

I am continuing with the installation of the left components after name change, I'll see what shall I get since I didn't start WinCC explorer, not once.
