Dearmiro86, Siemens provides pretty good planning manuals on https://www.siemens.com/global/en/home/products/energy/services/transmission-distribution-smart-grid/consulting-and-planning/tip-consultant-support.html. Please find attached a few pages out of the “Technical principles of power distribution planning” explaining the relevant criteria for circuit breakers. Ics is breaking capacity: To interrupt short-circuit current causes an arc over the contacts and arc quenching becomes more difficult on higher voltage. Icw is short-time withstand capacity: More or less power loss of a switching device or a busbar during short circuit, depends on the current and the resistance.
