download question from a newbie

tisuser Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am very new to Siemens PLC's but I have experience and knowledge on other PLC's. I have a project with base 0 and base 1 using interface module. The processor is factory new and sitting on my desk now. I basically powered it up and set the IP address. I would like to download the program that I have and get online and play with the processor. Do I need all I/O modules hooked up as well for a successful download or can I download the program to the processor without the other modules? My download attempt ended with an error and I wonder if this is the reason. Thank you in advance!

How did you set up the TCP/IP address of the CPU? What are your settings in PG/PC Interface (you should point to ISO Ind. Ethernet, for example) with your access point being your network card. See the following FAQ for more detailed information. tisuser Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi dcchartier, Thank you for the reply. The download error I recieve is: Download (33:16656) Online: Connection could not be established. The connection partner is not responding. I set the PG/PC Interface to my network card (Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection TCP/IP). In the hardware config, what I noticed is, when I go to "select node address" window and update the accessible nodes, it shows my S7-300 ip address as 192.168.0.1 although i set it up to a different address. And i was able to ping it after I set the ip address. So for some reason it is not taking it. I set the IP address under Simatic Manager--->PLC-----> Edit Ethernet Node What am I missing here? Thank you...
