You can try different types of data loggers if you are not after a SCADA system. This mob (just to give you an idea) sells data loggers which will store the data directly on your PC and they have modules which you can tap onto profibus and spy the values across the bus or connect directly on to the analog signals. http://www.iba-ag.com/content.php?PHPSESSID=b583a77abado930kq8u08ki5e3&ID=37 but you will also have to consider cost, and it may be that it is just as cost effective to set up alaptop with WinCC or Flexible. tAlthough the data loggers do have the advantage of having a much higher resolution than the communications update cycle of a SCADA system and typically dont tax the CPU communications processor. |
