How to establish communication for WINCC Flexible 2007 and S7 5.4 on Simulator?

kid237 Posts: 158 Rating: (3)	Hello there, I am trying to test my flexible and S7 program on my notebook. I have started the simulators for flexible and S7 but whenever i try to download some datas from theFlexible to PLC (both on simulators),the PLC is not receiving the data. I have try the program on actual HMI and PLC and i was able to transfer the data but i dont understand why i couldnt do so in simulators? is there any settings that i need to check?? regards

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	PLCSIM has a menu option to change MPI address. Make sure MPI address of PLCSIM is what WinCC Flex is looking for. Also make sure Set PG/PC interface is set for MPI (5611, 5612 or PC Adaptor). I think it works only if you configure communication via MPI. FunStuff Posts: 103 Rating: (10)	When using PLC-Sim you should use the HMI runtime not the simulator. The HMI simulator has a seperate screen for entering variable values that pops upin the task bar but itis for simulation without aPLC or PLC-Sim connection. The runtime option will connect with the PLC-Sim application if it is running with the appropriate project downloaded. If the project works on the real devices it should work fine on the simulation because the settings don't change for addressing. See attached picture. Attachment HMI buttons.JPG (542 Downloads)
