How to reset or change protocol settings?
For device availability in SIMEAS P Parameterization.
Installed Modbus RTU protocol and the device is not available for SIMEAS P Parameterization.
The device does not have a screen and control buttons.

What firmware revision is your device?  The software Siemens provides can update the firmware and then the software would allow parameterization over RS485.  At least that is what the help file says.

Searching the help file for "Modbus" came up with this help:

Setting the communication parameters for the device

The communication parameters to be set in SIMEAS P are set separately from the other device parameters under "Device" -> "Edit connection parameters".

To set the communications parameters in the device, proceed as follows:

1.        In the pull-down menu, select "Device" -> "Edit connection parameters".
The following dialog appears: "Device connection parameters".

2.        Enter all the parameters.

3.        Confirm what you have entered by pressing "OK".

To send the communications parameters to the device, proceed as follows:

1.        In the pull-down menu, select "Device" -> "Send connection parameters".

2.        If you have left the protocol as "serial port" under "Device connection parameters" and only changed the baud rate or the device address, a selection window pops up allowing you to adopt the changes on the PC or not.
Yes -> Settings like baud rate and device address are adjusted in the device by restarting it and in the software under "Device" -> "Edit connection parameters".
No -> Parameters in the device are only activated after it is switched off and back on again.

3.        If you have set Profibus or Modbus, the parameters are only applied in the device after the device has been switched off and back on again. Afterwards, it is no longer possible to connect to the software. In order to interface the device to the software again, you need to change the protocol to "RS485 PC" by using the device keypad to go to the device menu and "Basic parameters" "Interface". To receive the communications parameters on the device, proceed as follows:

4.        In the pull-down menu, select "Device" -> "Receive connection parameters".
The connection parameters set in the SIMEAS P are loaded into the software.

Note:

In order to parameterize a device completely, the connection parameters and device parameters need to be set and sent to SIMEAS P separately.
