I am currently using PCS7 v8.0 and would like to know if it is possible move the runtime group from one OB to another without having to compile and download entire program.

For example: create a new CFC in existing multiproject, insert MotL block from library into chart, block is assigned to OB35 but you require it to be in OB33. 

Is it possible to open runtime editor and drag the folder from one task to another and still be able to compile and download changes only, as well as experience no issues when compiling and downloading OS?

I have done exactly this but without the OS c & d yet. I experienced no issues compiling and downloading changes only on ES however have been told that changes to OBs have caused issues in the past requiring complete download in STOP however these issues arose when editing existing CFCs whereas I changed a new chart before generating module drivers (if that matters I'm not sure). Cannot find any definitive answers in training manual or config manual.

have you tried to move only the blocks ?

I think, moving the whole runtime group to another OB could be the issue.

I dragged and dropped the folder from OB35 into OB33.

I did not experience any issues with compile and download however I have not carried out OS download yet.  I was told this could generate some reoccurring diagnostic alarms. 

What do you think?
