We have 828D controller with SINAMIC S120 drive. 

The machine was operating normally, now when we start up the machine alarms 230885 & 231885 (fault cause: 33) are triggered for the spindle drive.

We switched this drive by the Z axis drive (they are identical) and the same alarms are triggered for the axis Z.

So, we can be sure that the spindle drive is defective! 

Would you provide a procedure for basic troubleshooting and repairing the drive?

I know that repairing such drive need specific equipment and know-how skills. But we want to do a first check inside the drive maybe the problem is not big (like internal fuse, bad connection, RJ45 port defective.. etc.).

If the problem is complicated, we will replace the drive.

Thank you for your assistance.

1- I replaced the Drive-cliq cables by a new one. But, the same alarms.

2- I checked the voltage at the +24V DC bus bar of the module, it was 24 VDC.

3- I reloaded Drive backup data. But, the same alarms.

Is it possible to check the Drive-Cliq ports of the module?

Please find attached the PPU LED status.

The drives are controlled by the 828D, they are not controlled via individual CU.

Have you checked the LED status on PPU as well as its port?

Please attach small video snap of LED status of PPU & its port here.

P. S. - Check Sinamics drive CU LED status in case if Sinamics drives are controlled via individual CU.
