I may like to ask a question about the AI module input value monitoring. The AI module I was using is AI 4xU/I 2-wire ST_1 (6ES7 134-6HD00-0BA1). Input address of this AI module was set to 6 to 13. All the 4 input channels are configure in the PLC tags as an integer, and their corresponding addresses are IW6, IW8, IW10, and IW12. A voltage generator was directly connected to channel 0 of the AI module, and measurements of all the 4 input channels are set to 0-10v voltage. When I monitor the input value of IW6 at the watch table, it shows 128. When I change the input voltage value at the voltage generator, the monitor value of IW6 was not changing and kept at 128.

Can anybody help to point out where might be the problem?

BTW, I may also like to ask, since the real type tag used 4 byte of addresses, and the AI module only use 8 byte, is that means I can only use 2 channel of the AI module if I want to define the AI input as a real number?

I have the answer to your secod question,

Generally out AI module is nothing but the smart A2D convertor which takes the samples and convert it to the DIGITAL codes according to the bit resolution it has, now we have here max of 16 bit resolution available and for the 16 bit we require 1 Word so we use the Input word of the analog.

and in fact we have the DIGITAL counts by the ADC ranging from -32000 to 32000 aprox and for which the word area is sufficient

 try for first put that %IWXXX:P to some WORD area, f.ex.%MW40, after that watch that %MW40. There you can see it's value.

Generally siemens PLC S7 converts the analog value (of 4-20 ma/0-10v or other) to digital form between -27648 to +27648 only, So, i don't think that is there any requirement of DWORD/REAL data type.

NOW, for use of watch table please use IW6 monitor it, analog peripheral monitor is possible only if you have selected expanded mode. from toolbar button.

If problem not solved then please open your connection of analog Tx from module and see value goes to or NOT. if it goes to Zero then no problem in monitoring. It may from Tx or Analog module.

Addressing IW6, IW8, IW10, IW12 is correct. call as IW6 or PIW6. ensure that you have selected voltage in hardware configuration.

Normally 0V=0 Count, and 10V=27648. (Check the relevant manual for max count).

Data type Integer, then use Scale block to convert as unit.

feed the voltage 0 and 10V to all other channels also, and share the count values to find out the problem.

                       For your Reference I have attached the Hardware Configuration IN TIA Software Analog Module . So u have to Choose Mesurement type : Input Voltage/Current . And Channel Address - Analog Input Address Geting in to Program .

Actually I have tried using mov function to move the AI input value from IW6 to a memory address MW100, and I also monitor IW6:P and MW100:P in the watch table, but the values are all 128. I was quite confuse about this, if the value can be monitored, then it should be changed, if cannot, why there was a value of 128?

I have already done the hardware configuration to measure voltage with range from 0-10v. As you mentioned, feed the voltage 0 and 10v to all other channels and share the count values, actually I have also tried all the other 3 channels, and the result was same, all showed 128 and not changing.
